The Journey book by Eugene Broadway continues the Broadway family’s journey from slaves to their lives as freedmen with new opportunities, gaining land, losing land and more. Mr. Broadway takes the common threads uncovered by Author Marie Tom’s (Broadway Generations) and unravels several more family heritage mysteries.

The candid accounts of family life, interviews and stories from other Broadway family members cover everything from life events post slavery, freedmen transistions, the effects of Jim Crow, Civil Rights Movement and more. Also, featured on the The Journey book’s cover is a painting by Danny Broadway, celebrated Memphis artist.

BIOGRAPHY
Eugene Broadway is a retired Postal Worker, Barber and US Marine Veteran. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas. He also holds a Barber Instructor and Cosmetology License. After working with his cousins on the 2010 Broadway Family Reunion Committee, Eugene was encouraged by cousin Marie Broadway Toms to pursue one of his aspirations in life which was to write a book. Eugene and his wife Shianne now live a retired life in Powder Springs, Georgia.
